There's nothing particularly new about such opinions; they've been being made by a number of the more extreme Israelis for a some years now. As far as I recall, 3 of the arguments used are:

1) Jews have a religious claim on the land of Israel. Since the majority of Jews were deported by the Romans following the Jewish War (60s AD) and the Bar Kockba revolt of 135AD, this is taken historical claims to extremes. By this reasoning, the Welsh have a valid claim to most of England.

2) The Arabs have lots of land in which to house evicted Arabs.

3) There weren't all that many Arabs in 19th Century Palestine, so they don't have any more of a valid claim than the Zionist settlers of the late 19th/early 20th Century.

In practice, you can ignore all of the above; Israeli might backed by US support is all that is needed to implement such a policy.

It does seem logical that the removal of Jews in the Palestinian area back to Israel would be helpful as it would give the Palestinians a degree of security and reduce tensions. The only problem is that the Jews have built their homes and their lives there and will not be recompensed for the effort they have put in, hence their reluctance to leave.

It hasn't helped too that when Israel was within its boundaries, the Arab neighbours around it took it in turns to mount attacks upon it. In effect they caused Israel to expand to preserve its own security.

All the Jews want is some peace and security. They want to know that their neighbours will leave them alone, which is a good idea as when they are forced into battle they usually win.

The only way they will resolve this conflict is by both parties displaying the tolerance of others, which their relative religions promote.

Yes, it's true that as boundaries have changed both Palestinians and Jews have found themselves in the 'wrong' place.

Must admit that I'd much prefer for re-location to be a voluntary thing as I envisage that a lot of bloodshed could be involved in forceable eviction.

It would be nice if people could see that what they were being asked to do was for the greater good and for long term stability and peace in the region but feelings are running high and common sense, altruism and tolerance do not seem to be there in great abundance.

Given that the conflict was going on in Jesus's time and is still going on now, we can probably expect it to be going on in 2000 years time unless both parties see sense.

If Isreal wants to "remove" a certain race from an area and that race does not have a say in the matter then that is ethic cleansing. So, Al Jazeera's interpretation is correct. I think.
