Santa in a taxi? No.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/3330533.stm
Comment on the stance taken by the council please.
Down this neck of the woods the council is seen as a bunch of killjoys by cabbies over this, but then again the taxi drivers around here have always seemed to think laws don't apply to them.....

Re: Santa in a taxi? No.
I have to ask whether the council would feel the same if he had actually GROWN a beard since having his photo taken for his licence.

Re: Santa in a taxi? No.
World has gone mad!!
Who cares?I'm sick of Crimbo because it starts in the shops too early and schools are banging on about it way too early(I got rather sick of covering music lessons 'cos they have been singing carols since October).
All I want from a taxi driver is a quick, short, safe and not too expensive journey. What he wears is immaterial.
Incog.

So....A bloke in a car with a big ariel on the top which make it look like a taxi is out and about in a Santa costume, he's looking for children, he sees some, he stops, the kids come over.....

Re: Santa in a taxi? No.
Good point but this could easily happen outside their homes, look at Sarah Payne, she was yards from where she lived.

Re: Santa in a taxi? No.
Out of interest how many people actually check that the photo on the driver's badge actually matches the driver before getting into a taxi/private hire car?

Why doesn't the guy just get a new taxi licence with a picture of himself in the Santa Suit?!

Re: Santa in a taxi? No.
However silly it may sound, What else could the council say? The photograph is there for a reason (presumably). If the council were to say it's ok, and something horrible happened with a Santa with beard and some innocent girls, the whole nation would be over them...
