Re: NPower in 3rd price hike again
I put my details in to www.uswitch.co.uk last night and discovered that with only one provider could I save money......ÂÂƚ£1.83 per annum! The rest were in negative figures.......
I'm with Southern Electric.....how long will that last I wonder...?

Re: NPower in 3rd price hike again
Meanwhile, in the real world, wholesale gas and oil prices are dropping sharply. I hope no one was taken in by the 'fix now and fall next year' British Gas offer - they must *know* that the prices they pay wholesale are going to fall by then, so you fix at a high rate, then they drop it before next year anyway and you're left paying.
Privatisation makes companies more attentive to customer service, of course.

Holy cr*p!
You need to look at your insulation and glazing (or your thermostat and meters).
We live in a 4-bedroom detached, and we pay NPower and Yorkshire Electricity £39 each per month, so that's £78 per month versus your £153. We have two teenage kids, and all the usual electrical appliances. I would advise a review of usage, pdq!

Its all a rip off imo, " we have had to increase our charges " load of crap.
If they gave a bit less to the shareholders they would not " have to increase their charges "
I see benefit claimants being given a swipe card whereby they simply produce their bills at the nearest post office, if you can find one, and the card is swiped, hey presto! the bill is paid, meanwhile mr ordinary man in the street getting up at daft o clock to keep their head < s > above water are well and truly screwed.

The fixed price scam? no increase for 50 years? but you're paying well above the standard rate for your units, am I the only one to see through this scam for what it is?
When I put this to my provider they were stuck for a response

We live in a 3 bedroom semi with 9" brick walls, we have double glazing all round. We have the loft insulated and we we cook on gas and have gas fired central heating and hot water.
The central heating hasn`t been on for months and i just think i`m being ripped off by Npower!.

This has confused me, like yourself my sister has a lowish bill for a house her electricity with powergen who are expensive ran upto about £40 on her last bill for 3 months. My old bedsit was csting me almost £100 every 3 months, this is for 1 room and no water heating costs (that was paid by landlord).
My new flat which has 4 rooms altogether (including bathroom kitchen) smaller then a house, I had a bill after 1 month and was over £40 so isnt looking too promising for me when my first full bill arrives.

I seem to remember you are a supporter of the EU. But I am happy to be corrected if you're not. I expect you know then that the energy market's liberalisation, as it's known as in EU circles, is the result of EU wide laws that were inspired by our own politicians. And another reason for the French to blame the EU's problems on the British.

Re: NPower in 3rd price hike again
for those not in the know - if you are switching you can earn either £15 or a bottle of Champagne just for moving your custom to another supplier.
I'd recommend a read on Martins article if you are considering switching, its' here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi...03281560,22751,
