Israel and Lebanon

Amazed their is no topic about this yet. What do you think about Israels reaction to the kidnapping of their soliders by Hezbollah? Every day the violance gets worse.

If it continues what are the chances of an all out war in the middle east?

Considering Bush's indifference to the Israel and Lebanon situation, quite high I'd say.

Ahh. So he's damned when he does interfere with the business of soverign countries, and damned when he doesn't, then?

Now, if the US enacted regime-change on Israel instead of Iraq, i'm sure certain people's attitudes on here would be quite different.

Re: Israel and Lebanon

Do they have a lot of oil, by any chance?

Ironic that such a supposedly holy land should be a place of such violence and hatred. Give it time and the situation will resolve itself.

But it wont. Israel has been attacked time after time after time over hundreds of years. They are the country that is being oppressed. There is no oil but the Israelites have cultivated a practically uninhabitable piece of land and grow their own crops. The countries around them are either too thick or too lazy to do the same so they are jelous of Israel and so keep attacking them. Palestine and Iran have both said in public addresses that they want Israel wiped off the face of the planet.
Many have tried and many have gone away with a bloody nose.

This latest outbreak was a deliberate provocation by Iran led Hizbola and are now complaining. If they want it to stop then all they have to do is to give back the Soldiers they kidnapped from Israeli territory.

Re: Israel and Lebanon

I think its deplorable the way Israel totally over reacts, bombing innocent people they seem to give the impression 1 israeli life is worth a 100 arab lives, it makes me feel queasy the way america will defend them no matter what they do. They will get there come uppance thats for certain .

But thats part of the problem, because theres nothing in it for the US they let them get on with it.

If America stopped supporting Israel then it would be a step in the right direction.

All Israel wants to do is live in piece but the other countires dont want it so and that is why they continually bomb and suicide bomb and kill it's innocent people.
Israel has taken this for the last six years and has now said enough is enough.
the surrounding terrorist countries are getting all they deserve.
