that's a cop out - it's was totally unnecessary to include the 'load of crap' in your quote for this discussion other than to wind up Russ and offend (probably) a good number of the religious people of this forum. mocking their beliefs by quoting your friend saying 'a load of crap' is not the way to achieve a discussion that includes those who disagree with your friend.

Why is it that it's only the non-religious people are expected to be sensitive to the religious peoples belief. Why can't we be sensitive to fact that sarahlouises' friend thinks that religion is a load of crap? It goes both ways you know....

It was a QUOTE!!!! Therefore Yes! It is by what he said that intrigued me so much. As has been said here already, everyone has their own individual beliefs. Some believe, some don't. It can upset those that believe with those that don't and visa-versa but it all comes down to opinions and each persons individuality.

From my point of view if the quote Sarah started the discussion with had 'load of crap' in it then it was necessary and justified to include it. I think by reading the thread there has been a good selection of adult comments relating to her post.

I think you have been quite abrupt and attacking in your comments so far and I think you have been unjust in this.

(as for my previous post, just to clear it - these were not questions I was directing at you)

I think if you look through it you'll find a distinct absence of the usual suspects - ie. the bible bashers. if you want to get some real opinions you need to include them. you can exclude them at the start if you make your point in an insensitive fashion.

If we are not allowed to make comment incase someone may take offence to it then aren't we turning into a sad world? Is free speach and individuality being stripped away in favour of political correctness? Who decides what's politically correct and what's not?

We are starting to turn over our lives to others - we believe what we are told and we act upon other peoples wishes.

Everyone needs to be entitled to their own beliefs and noone has the right to tell anyone else that they are right or they are wrong.

That has to be the post of 2006 for me and very well suited to whats happening on this forum at times
