Nigerian Scammer threatens to set the Met. Police onto Ebayer!
Yes. A Nigerian scammer bought some goods off ebay, forged a paypal reciept, and then forged an email from the Met Police, threatening the ebayer with further action unless he sent the goods
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/06/09/police_ebayer/
Now, I have a couple of points about this email...
- I'm pretty sure the Met would not send an email to inform you you are being investigated.
- I'm also pretty sure that assuming they did send an email, it would come from their own domain (police.gov.uk or some such), and certainly not a foreign email firm.

According to (Section 1001, Title 18, U.K. Code) of the criminal law quote, which says that and i quote "Unshipped paid merchandise must be sent to a six month Imprisonment".

3. The spelling and grammar would be correct.
4. They'd even get their own mailing address right. At the very least, it would be in the correct format.
Its amazing how thick these 419ers actually think people are. Still some idiots fall for it, so I suppose its always worth the chance.

The bit that had me in stitches was "You are already among the Metropolitian Police most wanted Fugitives of this week for quick investigation and execution."
Pure class!

I think the address is in the correct format. Just not for this country. That town they mention is apparently in Australia.

Has anybody visited a site called "scam-o-rama" ?.....(The Lads from Lagos )
If not take a look, you'll get some right good laughs on there I can tell you.
The best bits are where the author of the site scams the scammer

I've just spent three hours reading some of the hillarious stories on there.
Some good tips on there as well.
If I can pluck up enough courage I would like to have a go at winding up a scammer myself...but knowing my luck I'd get one of them catch a plane over and end up on my doorstep and bloody shoot me.
