Re: allofmp3.com illegal..
I always knew the web site was illegal.
Still I'm not sure how they can shut it down given Russia's dubious copyright laws (or lack of them).

Not under Russian law it isnt and in there terms and condition they state that they are not responsable for other countries laws
And the latest court cases were thrown out because criminal law in Russia does not cover somethign that isnt a physical product.

Re: allofmp3.com illegal..
I'm pretty sure it's not illegal under Russian law. And I'm pretty sure when I purchase a track from them, I'm to all intents and purposes importing it for Russian.
Anything from the BPI comes with a tonne of salt.

Re: allofmp3.com illegal..
At the end of the day the only way the music industry will ever combat piracy is to bring there prices down to a fair price.I would buy cds if they were cheap when there first released say 2.99-3.99 maybe less cuz sales would rocket imo.But while there money grabbing barstewards then im gonna be a leech

Re: allofmp3.com illegal..
There are no good and legal download services anyway.
If you download any music it comes with DRM - reinstall Windows and cross fingers and hope you can still access it.
Copy to a device to play it - probably won't work.
So you have the crazy situation where people use Windows to burn to CD and then rip back from CD thus removing the DRM.
I don't see how any of this helps to reduce piracy - just annoys people who are prepared to pay.
I can't wait for the BPI to be told they can't change international law on imports!

If you got them on iTunes fire off a email to support telling them what happened and you will get the songs back.

And also, add to that the fact that all this burning to CD and ripping back business is lowering audio quality even further. For those of us that care about our audio quality, this makes a bad situation worse - transcoded files from what is already low bit rate compressed audio into another compressed format - or simply huge wave files that take up more space, but with no more quality. This is why, under the current situation I refuse to buy anything from iTunes/Napster and its ilk - if I want to buy music on the internet then it's got to be the best quality, not this mushy crap, and uncompressed. Do they seem to think we all have cloth ears or something??
It's really annoying for us people who want decent quality audio, not some low bitrate slop that's served up by the music industry. If we want to buy something then we'll either have to fork out for the album or single, which let's face it isn't always cheap. And we can't pick a-la-carte, so if we want one track, we'll have to buy the whole damn album or CD single.
I don't think it does the artist's work any justice either - after all, why should their works be delivered in an inferior format that provides low audio quality.

If you have brought songs off the iTunes Music Store and then lost them. Apple are likely to replace them free of charge.
They wont replace songs on iTunes there were not brought off the music store.
