Apparently the Daily Mail offered to pay all the expenses of one of the whale charities involved. The 'cost' therefore is likely to be increased circulation of the Daily Mail (or at least they think so, that's why they do it).

No I haven't, but I'l take your word for it.
I think I'd favour the oceon too.

Our whale in heaven,

Thee whale got stuck,
Thee tide no luck,
in rivers and in oceon.
RIP.

Perhaps not but it deserves far more respect that you appear to be showing for it.

Re: [Updated] Thames Whale has died

I think these creatures of the oceons just make us realise how grand the earth is and how the sea is a whole universe of its own with all these great animals. Whales are so big compared to human's. I find them amazing creatures. Thankgoodness they are no longer hunted, as I'm sure there are not many left.

To be fair mate its just an animal. I know that sounds harsh but we eat animals everyday (well a lot of us do) we kill the animals that bug us, you should not swerve to dodge an animal when driving and we, quite rightly, place them below us in terms of respect. You should not swerve to dodge an animal when driving.

Its a sad story and I like Whales but I do not see why it demands a higher degree of respect than other animals

Re: [Updated] Thames Whale has died

I've just heard on TalkSport that street vendors alongside the Thames who didn't anticipate the animal's death and had orders of "I saw the London Whale" shirts delivered this morning are cursing their bad luck...

No it isn't 'just' anything IMO. A whale is a beautiful intelligent creature that even today we don't fully appreciate and understand.

And where did I say it should? I was merely responding to sarky comments about a state funeral that IMO were not necessary in this thread. I wasn't sure what were Incognitas point was, maybe because this event got 95% of the media's attention yesterday, but so what if it did? The whole thing was far more interesting news to watch than of recent times and very much so the fact that this was IMO an important historical event.

Re: [Updated] Thames Whale has died

I think it was a good news story, intresting and involved a Whale which is always a plus.

I dont think is was a important history event however

Re: [Updated] Thames Whale has died

Isn't it normally at this point that a level headed team member would step in and suggest taking this argument to PM or start your own thread??
