Re: Whale swims up Thames
You just watch, Chris Martin will organise a charity single in aid of Wally the whale who will become a celebrity in his own right. Then he'll release his own single (whale 'music' of course, played over a Fatboy Slim-remixed dance inststrumental) and will take his place on next year's Celebrity Big Brother before disappearing back in to obscurity, before popping back up 5 years down the line (pardon the pun) in a undercover drugs bust.

Re: [Updated] Thames Whale has died
 It's a sad ending.
I really wanted the whale to get back to the sea and be with its family.
Well, I hope its in a better place now.

I'm sure it is. Have you seen the colour of the Thames recently?

Doesn't that depend on whether it believed in whale heaven?
It's sad that a magnificent creature like this has died, but magnificent creatures die all the time. I don't think the 'Disneyfication' of nature does any favours to our understanding of how and why whales behave the way they do.
But, if you want some comfort, at least it didn't end up like this.

Re: [Updated] Thames Whale has died
Thats bad news.
But it could have had a far worse ending.
This link is about a whale that was washed up dead on a beach, and the onlt way to dispose of the corpse was to use dynamite, with spectacular results

Whatever the cost of the attempt to help this whale was, was worth it, despite the sad outcome.
