Two scum for the price of one
BBC
Quote:
Twin brothers who left their 18th birthday party to rob their step grandmother of her life savings have been convicted of her manslaughter.
Robert and Jonathan Maskell, and their friend Dwane Johnston, were convicted at the Old Bailey of killing Anjelica Hallwood in January 2005.
Their 74-year-old victim was found badly beaten and strangled at her home in Edmonton, north London.

Re: Two scum for the price of one
How sad that people can put their own family through this for such a petty amount of cash. Sadder thing is, we'll see them on the streets in a few years, having enjoyed their time inside.

Re: Two scum for the price of one
What sickens me is that one of the three had only been released from prison the day before and was being looked after by the woman they batter
Quote:
Anthony Leonard QC, prosecuting, said Jonathan Maskell asked their mother if they could leave the party to meet Johnston who had a birthday card for them.
They then went to Mrs Hallwood's home where Johnston had been staying since leaving prison the previous day.
Mr Leonard said as they ransacked the property Johnston hit Mrs Hallwood in the face and pressed on her throat as he pinned her to the ground.

You honestly think they will do as long as that. There will be someone already trying to get them out on some wacky excuse based around a bad childhood or something similar
Whats the betting they get 3 years or less each ?.

Ok So the next statement is seen correctly. I have a young offenders prison very close to my house. And it has not been any problems at all.
If people want these pond life to be dealt with correctly then yes we need more prisons. Now if that means that you will have one close to where you live then so be it. People cannot scream blue murder about how weak the justice system is in this country if at the same time they scream blue murder when the Government want to build another prison.

Re: Two scum for the price of one
it wont happen while Labour are in, the left aren't keen in punishment for criminals - for them prison is like school places - there are only a limited number available!

Not sure if that was aimed at me?
But I would prefer a prison near my house instead of the facility for homeless teenagers(ie: chucked out by their parents)that I am having to look forward to!
At least a prison has low life locked up, not able to come and go as they please and is not being run by do-gooders. I know not all homeless teenagers are trouble, but a large percentage are sure to be in a facilty for the homeless, and what made my blood boil is the council trying to tell all the residents there will not be any increase in crime in the area.

Re: Two scum for the price of one
These people are sick in the head.
They forget all about life values and any feelings they had are often converted into a need for cash to (in many cases) buy their next bag of drugs.
So many people get hurt. The world is an awful place with people like this.

Probably about 7 years if they don't cause trouble while inside.

George Carlin used to make a joke about people not wanting prisons need him. He said he wants to live near a prison, its the safest place in the neighbourhood. He said:
