Scum thieves steal newborn baby's gifts

BBC
Quote:
A new father was "sickened" to find his car broken into and baby gifts stolen, one hour after his daughter was born.
After watching the birth at Salisbury Hospital, Christopher Hargrave from Shaftesbury returned to his Vauxhall Corsa to fetch some new baby clothes.
He found the car had been broken into and the stereo, baby clothes, nappies and £500 in cash gifts gone.
Mr Hargrave said: "I feel the incident is sick and cannot believe this happened, especially today."
Among the items stolen were babygrows, hats, scratch-mittens and shawls for his daughter Shania.
He said: "The whole incident has left me feeling gutted, especially about the baby clothes."
This just shows how low some people can stoop

Re: Scum thieves steal newborn baby's gifts

Depends on how you look at it really, not that im condoning it but if whoever stole the stuff had a young kid back home for which he could not provide then perhaps.

Trouble is its more likely some scumbag after a quick fix.

Seems a bit daft to be leaving all that stuff in full view anyway.

Re: Scum thieves steal newborn baby's gifts

When I worked at our local hospital, scumbags would hide in the car park and watch for distressed people going into the hospital, knowing that they probably wouldn't be leaving for some time. Then they would break into the car, even if the owner had left items in the boot.
I expect his mind was on other things, too, if he'd just seen his baby born - but that's no excuse for what happened.

These scum are the lowest of the low.

Picking on people who may be really distressed in a hospital car park, I mean what if they were there with a casualty not a new born child, does not make it any better but the stress of having that happen to you would probably push some folk over the edge.

And *if* they catch them? slap on the wrist or community service...

Makes you want to puke, it really does with the depths and depravity of some sectors of society these days.

Re: Scum thieves steal newborn baby's gifts

I agree that it was a bit daft leaving the stuff in plain view. I'd have put it in the boot at least. And as for £500 in cash gifts - I'd have kept that on me.

But that isn't the point - these thieves broke into the car and stole stuff.

It doesn't really matter if it was a load of baby stuff, a CD or a ratchet socket set - theft is theft. And the fact that they were breaking into cars to steal makes the crime twice as bad.

Unfortunately the police are unlikely to do much about it except give the victims a crime reference number.

Why should`nt decent people leave their property in their own vehicles and not expect some scum slime to pinch them???????????

Re: Scum thieves steal newborn baby's gifts

It might be a bit daft leaving it in full view, but the hospital car park could have been better protected too.
Most of the stuff stolen will probably be thrown away anyway as they wont have any use for it. People who steal things have no brains at all.
