Re: Who should light the Olympic Flame?

should be olympian who I dont know.

Should not be some celeb

Maybe 2 one from paralymipics too.

Tanya was good shout.

Other possble one the greatest GB from the past who still alive there could long list candidates.

Daly thompson
redgrave
ovett as coe orginised it
Geoff Capes ( he would love that nice to see him at the relay)

Maybe family member lord Burghley (who people will say)

the link might help understand his olmpian links was only man to run the square in the time not abrahams like chariots fire potrayed.

If we not to have olympian then a family member Lord Burghley should be it considering the following article of his achievements his work with the sport.

God, isn't Britain dull without them anymore

Re: Who should light the Olympic Flame?

I'm surprised that 'elf and safety haven't stamped down on it for being too dangerous: I mean open naked flames, gas, torches, high platforms etc and not a hard-hat in sight.

I can just see a jumped up jobsworth in a high vis jacket and with a clip board doing his tiny.

That would be the British way today.

Agreed,

Britain used to be loads of fun, lighthearted and easy going. These days i've lost respect for this entire country, and i'll be leaving in two years. It's stressful just living here, just depressing these days.

Re: Who should light the Olympic Flame?

Don't think it will be Sir Hoy as he's to be the Flag bearer.

Re: Who should light the Olympic Flame?

Steve Redgrave.

Is he a true example of all Brit? Yup.
And excell in what he did without controversary. Yup.

Plenty more qualify for the honour.

Does this mean that I'll have to stay up until midnight on Friday to find out the answer? Yup

(Beckham? Are you serious?)
