Bomber Command memorial

The Queen has offically opened the memorial to the RAF's Bomber Command and the 55,000 men from Britain and all around the world, who died in service.

Despite the horror of what they were required to do and their regrets at the inevitable loss of civilian life involved, I regard all these men as heroes and believe this tribute to their dedication, bravery and sacrifice is long overdue. I'm certain the flypast by the RAF's last flying Lancaster dropping poppies must have been extremely moving for all of them.

Re: Bomber Command memorial

About time too, it wasn't their decision to use the tactics which were used, it was , no doubt their political masters. Shame on Churchill for not thanking them at the end of the war or giving them a campaign medal. They were truly brave.
