Mayhem on the Buses
Reading my local rag tonight there was a story about a woman getting hit by a bus in Newcastle city center ,this makes the 7th person in 8 weeks .Today's victim was however using a mobile phone and stepped out in front of the bus but knowing the city center like i do i can say that the buses are a hazard to be anywhere near when they are moving. What are other cities/towns like are they as bad as Newcastle ?

I haven't decided yet, Pabs. don't want to say yes or no and go and do a U-turn later on.

Re: Mayhem on the Buses
The buses in my town think they have the god given right to drive as they like, all the traffic calming measures stop ambulances going over 20mph but buses can go (and do) over 20mph.

Re: Mayhem on the Buses
Seems to me that drivers, pedestrians and bike riders have in general no respect or attention for each other. On roads, pavements and in car parks they all do really stupid and dangerous things..and are totally oblivious to each other ,mobiles or not.
The pavements are almost as dangerous as the roads round here what with bike riders and mobility scooters.I've got a permanent crick in my neck watching out for those whizzing up behind me.
Frankly the bus drivers are IMHO actually the better behaved around here because they go out of their way not cause accidents by giving way and waiting to see what others do before continuing.
