Strangely, the BBC link/article doesn't accurately report why he said that.....
Boris Johnson: Ken Lingstone a 'tax dodger' and a 'hypocrite'
Quote:
Mr Livingstone, who has attacked tax avoiders as “rich *******s” who should “not be allowed to vote,” channelled earnings of £232,000 in 2009 alone through a private company, Silveta Ltd, paying corporation tax at 21% instead of income tax at up to 40% and avoiding National Insurance altogether.
He set up the company jointly with his wife, allowing him to split his income 50-50 with her, even though it was earned entirely by him, saving further tax. He has also paid Mrs Livingstone from company funds as his “assistant.” He has piled up at least £320,000 in cash in the company, a tactic he admitted was a “tax avoidance option.”

oops.....Would any of our lefty, guardian readers like to comment on this?

Strange - politicians get criticised for being bland and afraid to say what they think, but when they do.....

Maybe not the best politician and i would hate to see him with his finger on the button ....but
can't argue with this
On George W Bush
"The President is a cross-eyed Texan warmonger, unelected, inarticulate, who epitomises the arrogance of American foreign policy.
or this
On Tony Blair
"It is just flipping unbelievable. He is a mixture of Harry Houdini and a greased piglet. He is barely human in his elusiveness. Nailing Blair is like trying to pin jelly to a wall."
or this
On Channel 5
"I don't see why people are so snooty about Channel 5. It has some respectable documentaries about the Second World War. It also devotes considerable airtime to investigations into lap-dancing, and other related and vital subjects."
and my all time favourite
On drugs
"I think I was once given cocaine but I sneezed so it didn't go up my nose. In fact, it may have been icing sugar.
I think his ratio is about 1 truism to 5 idiocies

Re: Say what you mean Boris!
Livingstone had a good record a Mayor of London, Boris hasn't done poorly either, but he does have ani abrasive personality whereas Boris is a lot more likeable. The thing about Livingstone is that these dodgy dealings always seem to follow him. Last election the Evening Standand had it in for him and printed a lot of negative articles about corruption and links to terrorist sympathisers which they later had to retract. Boris made a big deal of finding his corrupt payments whilst in office and couldn't find anything, instead choosing to deem his funding of a gay pride festival as 'irresponsible' and disingenuously pretending this was the same thing. It isn't and it isn't what he originally set out to prove.

Re: Say what you mean Boris!
Politicians in the main are corrupt...stupid...or varying degrees of both
We should vote for robots...they would take logical decisions, can't be insulted or feel insulted...and I really only see one drawback..they might decide humans aren't worth saving...I'm willing to risk it..who's with me? "let's be having you!" in my best delia impression

Re: Say what you mean Boris!
I hope everyone realises that Boris actually took credit for a lot of policies that Ken instigated..IF Ken gets back in it will be interesting to see if he takes credit for any of Boris's ideas.
