BBC labels small child as a recovering alcoholic..

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/02...software_woes/

The BBC's North West Tonight programme accidentally labelled a small child as a recovering alcoholic.

Sources within the BBC point to several problems in the software being used in the BBC's state of the art studios in Salford Media Centre.

The BBC's official response is

"It wasn’t a technical error but rather just a simple case of people getting used to the new systems. With the introduction of any new systems, teething problems are to be expected."

So, the old "Human Error" statement.

Crazy why proper checks was not carried out surely it should be flagged someone double check the story.

Nope it has to be right the computer says so they read it out.

So maybe it was human error of typing the story at salford. There was also failures at North West studio too not to double check validity.

Why was there no supervisor check the acuracy at salford.
