All banks benefited from the tax payer during the credit crisis so this lot are as ripe for bashing as the next imo.

It could be argued that they have benefitted from the various QE plans which could be argued they have had a tax payer bail out

I don't think that's how QE works (the BoE doesn't just give the banks money).

No but once they've exchanged the bonds and assets they have sold to the BOE then they can keep hold of the cash - they are not compelled to lend it out
