Re: NHS why is it such a political problem
Take pride in the NHS? You must be bloody joking.
My poor mother damaged her knee back in October last year, has been off work with it since then and has only, I repeat, has only just had the MRI scan to confirm the damage done. When she went to Casualty at the time of the accident, two doctors looked at her knee, x-rayed it scanned it and then proclaimed she had torn a tendon or two but it wasn't absolutely sure because he wasn't very good at scanning, a second doctor was sought after and he said the same. With those comforting words, my mother was sent home with pain killers and crutches, for the first few weeks the family had to care for her because my mum couldn't walk or get around.
The Government glorifies itself on the reduced waiting times but not many people realise that when you go for a pre-op or go to see a consultant, the time spent waiting resets, this is a nice way to record statistics which puts the government in good light, when actually appointments that are just discussions about potential treatments and not actual treatments.
Take pride in the NHS you say? No flaming way.
