if its the article that shows the 8 members of the family, it repeats what I have always said.
The press find extreme cases, and every single time its the same pattern, large amounts of kids.
that breakdown has a huge chunk from "child tax credit", take that away and suddenly its not lots of cash.
I think its clear I am no fan of over generous child benefits. However that article sort of goes a long way to show the bbc's bias, them pointing out things like the money spent on cigarettes and alcohol, the sort of report expected from the daily mail.

But me and the wife were talking about this and we couldn't think of any familys near us that have eight in total so for me they are not representitive of claimants. They can certainly live a lot cheaper then they do but i think the adults are still living as they did when working they havn't and don't seem to want to adapt their lifestyle to their new reality.
My second mind on this is about the bbc why pick this family and i am noticing a trend with the bbc when it comes to welfare of nearly always showing the worst type. Is the timing of this just coincidental is it hell. Cameron threatens the bbc so they start sucking up in somethings to help this government along on this issue. I get where the anger many of you feel comes from on this i share it but please do not think this family is representative of life on benefits because they are not.
Heres the thing though i do support a cap on benefit always have some prople are getting too much and not adapting to their new circumstance but blatent propaganda like this is just about getting all taxpayers enraged and against all claimants. Things have never been so uncertain in employment terms be careful what you wish for when your working because it will literally be too little and late when you might need it.
Sorry quick edit as i forgot a couple of points but he wrote education software so i assume this guy has programming skills which far as i know still has plenty of call for that. Secondly if he has been out of work for ten years wouldn't he have had to attend a training course. Hell i demanded one when i hit six months although it didn't help me as i suddenly went from not being qualified enough for an office job to being too qualified but thats life lol. I'm a claimant and i got angry about this so i do get it.

Yep its wrong to get that much of the state for kids, but at the same time as you said the article is nowhere near realistic of a typical claimant either. Not quite sure what the bbc are upto with that story.
