BAA Forced to sell London Stansted
BAA has lost its appeal against a ruling by The Competition Commission that it must sell London Stansted airport
In my opinon, this is a waste of time, selling Gatwick and Stansted will not solve anything in terms of the problems Londons airports face
It is time we took control of our 6 main airports (Heathtrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, Southend and City) under the "London Airports" company, so that the running if our airports is more coordinated

Oh no not again.... I think I've run out of popcorn for this thread.
In my opinion Stansted is one of our best airports with rail links, parking, and far enough from the city but near enough as well.

Stansted is a good airport, it just the changing the ownership of airports will not make a diffference!

Apart from the usual redundancies that will happen when a new company takes over.
This has happened to me many years ago.

Which would make things worse, time the GLA took control of London’s major airports and run and co-ordinate them properly!

This thread is purely about Stanstead and the order for BAA to sell it, nothing more and definitely not about airports that are not even built nor about any expanson/closure of the other London airports
