Are Parents "Trots"
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-16809400
Are parents "Trots" as Oberfuhrer Gove says or do they just want the best for their children?

Re: Are Parents "Trots"
The academy plan (along with free schools) is a waste of time and money, spend more on education!!!

Re: Are Parents "Trots"
As a parent they can call it what they want school, academy or micheal goves funhouse all i ever wanted was for my kids to get a good standard of education and thats all any parent wants. Standards are not as high as they should be or could be and instead of acting like changing the status of something will change that find out the real reason and fix that then parents won't object to anything.

Re: Are Parents "Trots"
Sadly statistics are against every child getting A-C grades. There will always be those who fall in the D-G range. Nothing and no one can alter that.
Doesn't matter what one's ideology is or what type of school or exam you construct or concoct that's a fact.
However it would be a start to make sure that those in the D-G range can read and write fairly fluently as well as get the basics in maths sorted. That in my humble opinion should be our aim at present.I sometimes feel we lay too much emphasis on those in the A-C range at the expense of the less academically inclined.
