Wealth Inequality
The BBC has found that since the 1970s Wealth Inequality has risen sharply, that has caused a lot of problems across the world and is a big issue for all of us all across the world!

Re: Wealth Inequality
So, it should be the 99.99% doing the occupying against the 0.01%?
I have no issues with the creation of wealth, but I have major issues with the unfair distribution (and I am not proposing sharing everything equally) - it would appear that the very rich have got richer, and the poor have got poorer.
However, in context, this is a very "first world" problem....

How so? There's a rapidly developing middle class in emerging economies like China and India, but the majority of the population remains dirt poor. I'm not sure if I would call the decreasing wealth inequality.

Re: Wealth Inequality
Apart from anything else, it the poor reproduce at a disproportionate rate then any increase in their wealth will always be diluted.

Yes, New Labour and the post-1979 Tories (along with other post-1970s governments) have made Inequality worse!

What you want is to somehow overturn the basic human condition, that has existed for millenia. I agree, it would be nice but so far the only way that anyone has come up with to level the playing field is to simply reduce the wealth of the better off......

The stats for the past 30 years suggest otherwise?

No I meant for more people to join unions and demand better wages, which would transfer wealth from the rich to the rest of us!

Thats terrible if it means that the richest 1% are somehow taking money from the poor. Whats probably happening is that the richest are simply earning more relative to the poorest?
