Police appeal over 'horrific' A12 concrete attack
Quote:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16007212
A woman has suffered life-threatening injuries when blocks of concrete which police described as the size of a bucket were dropped from bridges onto cars in two separate incidents on the A12 in Essex.
The woman passenger suffered serious head and chest injuries when the block smashed the windscreen of the car she was in as it went under the West Hanningfield bridge.

Good lord, what is it with people these days?
I really hope they get caught and thrown in jail.

Horrific and to be honest nothing shocks me now.
As for jail bet you now they are kids and when caught will only get a hand slap and don't do it again

If it's kids, they probably think it's just like some video smash 'em up game.
Let's hope the severely injured woman makes a full recovery and that those responsible are treated with the severity they deserve.

Doubtful. If she dies (hopefully not obviously) they are looking at 6 years, so in reality out in less than 3.

Looking at the date of that article that guy will be out now. Our sentencing really is laughable sometimes.

Re: Police appeal over 'horrific' A12 concrete attack
It happened in 1984 during the miners strike and the culprits were initially jailed for life for murder but it was reduced to manslaughter on appeal and the sentence to 8 years, it should have been life as no strike is worth the life of a person.

On 30 November 1984, Wilkie's fare was David Williams, who lived in Rhymney and worked at the Merthyr Vale mine, six miles away. Wilkie was driving the same route as he had done for the previous ten days. He was accompanied by two police cars and a motorcycle outrider, and had just turned on to the A465 road north of Rhymney at the "Asda roundabout" when two striking miners dropped a 46 lb [2] concrete block from a bridge 27 feet over the road. Wilkie was killed instantly; Williams was only slightly hurt

You would think so. By the letter of the law it is but rather than go through the expensive trial and to keep their conviction rates high most prosecutors would cut a deal for GBH or manslaughter.

Sorry was talking about the early release, and the early release on a tag before early release, and the early release on home visits before the early release on a tag.

The repercussions (i.e. vehicle out of control, on a busy main road, due to falling CONCRETE into said vehicle) have to be addressed too.
Let 'em be an unsuspecting passenger in a reconstructed situation I say. (Plus the given sentence)
Edit - what they said ^
