I've heard about this one before but the suggestion was Yoga was aligned in some way to Buddhism and other Eastern religions, and something which is connected to other faiths isn't generally accepted very well in Catholicism.

Because Hinduism is Pantheism, which is anathema to the RC hierarchy, and they (or he) seems to think Yoga/Buddhism/Hinduism all lead down that path....

In my opnion Chrisitianity is good religion, it just that most people running it are not that good (Rowan Williams and other belivers pf the Revolution Theory)

One of our friends at uni wouldn't join our karate club purely because as a christian he believed it's meditative aspects (not that we practiced any-we just knocked lumps off each other) were, iirc, a possible way of letting the devil in......takes all sorts......
