Footballer takes proceedings against Twitter

They should stop protecting these idiots, if the want to keep out of the papers and not have "rumours" published then try keeping it in your pants instead of running to the courts.

It's not like we don't know who he is anyway.

Just as an addition, the terms of the injunction apply on CF as well so anyone naming him or hinting at his identity will have their post deleted and account suspended.

The latest on this is that the footballer in question will be the loser, Twitter is own by an American company, therefore it cannot be challenged in an English court.

This is on Sky News.

The action is being in taken in America too, which has nothing to do with British courts.

What annoys me about this is that we can name the Big Brother woman, but not him which is wrong.

The thing is it's fine for the super rich whom can at the drop of a hat take anyone to court. However the ordinary Joe Bloggs who may inadvertently find himself and his privacy being invaded by the media for whatever reason usually has no comeback because he has no recourse to the sums of money required to even get an apology.

Let us have a privacy law by all means but let it at least be one that covers everyone but without preventing investigative journalism and without favouring one strata of society over another.

All this is doing is creating a nice earner for lawyers on all sides. It seems pretty clear Mr *bleep* *bleep* was doing the nasty with Imogen Thomas and wasn't that concerned with his right to a family life when locked in a hotel room with her.

In fact I had a nice pun linking to the name of the footballer concerned but I suppose I better not.

What a waste of money, he's made the situation worse for himself, because his name is all over Twitter. They're going to need a super large court to fit all those who are gulity of tweeting his name concerning this.

No dear that wasn't my solicitor..Twitter? Why would I be suing Twitter?I never look at it..You shouldn't either.
