The UK's fourth biggest grocer, Morrisons, has said it hopes to trial online shopping and convenience stores next year.

Re: Morrisons to test online shopping
Not that i shop there but i have often seen the iceland van in our area apparently they will deliver if you go and do your own shopping and spend over a certain amount, but they have no online shopping facility which is surprising, though having seen some cheap sausages a friend bought from them doubt i would use them, good for him though as he is on a low wage he rekons he does a months shopping for £60 mind you he gorges on chicken goujons, cheap sausages and pies with oven chips and aunt bessies mash.
Interesting development from morrisons though i always use Tescos online service, so morrisons obviously see internet shopping as maybe their future the same as the bigger players, even ocado(waitrose)deliver.

Re: Morrisons to test online shopping
I prefere Ocado/Waitrose personally... not that fond of Morrisons, so wouldn't try their online offerings when they start

Unfortunately Waitrose don't have a blanket provision because I would love to use their online service.I've only got Adsa and frankly I can do better going and shopping at the 24 hour Adsa because I can make up my own mind about substitutions. There is no Tesco locally so that not a viability. We do have Morrisons in the area so I might be interested.

Re: Morrisons to test online shopping
Tesco should still deliver even though the store is far away

Re: Morrisons to test online shopping
I would be interested in this, as I do like our local Morrisons. I currently use Tescos' service, but that is a bit expensive at times and I won't use Asda after a few "issues" with the items delivered.

Thats true we have 2 tesco superstores in my town, yet the one tesco uses for home deliveries to us is 9 miles away in a different town ,they used to deliver from our local store but centralised the operation,so just because you have no store in your local town does not mean to say they cannot deliver online.

Re: Morrisons to test online shopping
I wish they would, its the only superstore around us that doesnt do online shopping - but happens to be the one we use as its only 1/2 mile up the road.

Tesco for me
They don't always get things right and are downright ridiculous sometimes
But they are open to friendly, patient and constructive criticism. I just want an efficient service.

Re: Morrisons to test online shopping
I have never seen a Morrison's in or around the Brighton area, in fact I've never seen one this side of London.

Re: Morrisons to test online shopping
When we went on Holiday to Newquay, there were loads all about in Cornwall. Quite a few around Notts as well (ex Safeways).

There's one over here in Worthing. Used to be the Co-op down by the station.
I prefer to go to the store myself and pick up the bargains on the sell by shelf. Only a short distance to the Sainsbury's here.

Re: Morrisons to test online shopping
Morrison's was started in Bradford and expanded southwards until it bought Safeway a few years ago hence why there is now pockets of Morrison's in the south.
Bearing in mind that all the other bg supermarkets have had online delivery for 10 years or so it seems Morrison's are a bit slow off the block - not sure why it's such big news!!!
