Video footage has emerged of passengers and furniture being thrown across the floor of a cruise liner as the ship was struck by stormy seas.

Oh my goodness me. I don't know about a 20% discount on my next cruise, I don't think you would ever get me back on a ship again if I had been through that.

As a 12 year old emigrating with my family to Oz in 1971, we hit a typhoon between Cape Town and Perth.

They actually stopped serving food in the restaurants during the worst of it because everything was flying about.

The ship was in dry dock in Fremantle for 3 days such was the damage.

Guess how many cruises I've been on since 1971.

We were on a ship called the voyage of Discovery 13 or so years ago and going through the Greek Islands at 5.15 am` we were hit with 115 mile per hour winds.!

It was just like that. so very, very frightening, but a tribute to the shipbuilders skills. We didn`t sink.

They could sell that cruise to adventure seekers.. Pad the ballroom walls with rubber, put everyone in slippy clothes then let them slip and slide everywhere
