Radicals of any religion are such a PITA.

This should certainly send a message to radical Muslims, 'Ease off the radicalisation efforts, morons like me will do it for you!'

Without doubt this man and his congregation are going to cause uproar and anger with Muslims by burning their sacred books and probable revenge killings of soldiers and possibly other attacks.

The United States Government should take steps to disallow this stupid event from taking place.

On one hand this nutjob is as bad as the radicals he claims to be protesting against ,on the other hand if Islam is so insecure a religion that they cannot shrug it of as a "nutjob in middle America trying to get his 3 minutes of fame" then Islam as a religion doesn't deserve any respect

But it's not Islam as a religion - it's just extremist nutters like him, in both religions...

That's like saying Christianity can't be about peace and love, because people like him act the way he does.

the problem is how many peacefull muslims will turn to radicalism should this event take place,and if there are any will they use passages from the Koran to justify their actions ,after all desecrating the Koran is probably the worst crime against Islam and makes anybody doing so a enemy of Islam

Destroying Qu'rans in this way will certainly insult and alienate a great many reasonable, moderate Muslims. In fact I can think of few more effective ways of ensuring they never, ever give the Christian message a fair hearing. And that, surely, runs counter to the very reason even extremist churches like this exist. A sad day indeed.

Why are the media giving this guy so much publicity? His congregation is 50. Even in this small town there are churches much bigger than that... In USA terms, it's gnat sized.

I would say that it is because of the implications of his actions .
Pastor jones has just said he has no intention of canceling the event ,so the Americans have 2 choices .They can let this idiot use his right to freedom of expression or they can come down heavy handed and arrest him on some trumped up charge of hate crimes perhaps

AFAIC I would burn ALL religious books and keep the rest.

I did try to burn a Jackie Collins book, but it was so steamy, and the women so damp, that the flames couldn't take hold... until it got top the hot sex pages...
