lol paranoia rules. If you presume the worst can happen, you generally are guaranteed to never be surprised. But just generally

But why the police specifically? I sometimes wonder what it is that people do expect from the police.Yes a higher standard of behaviour,God forbid we go back to the bad old days of the 60s and 70s..when fit ups and poor behaviour and racism and inequality were rife in our police force.

But contrast that with today's police and better higher standards I wonder what is now expected of the police?Seems they have to be superman to do the job.I'm amazed that anyone wants to do the job with the high levels of criticism aimed at them at all times.

I do think it's odd that the video released appears to be heavily edited. It's almost as if it were designed to show the police officer in the worst possible light.

I'd be much happier to see the whole thing so that a more accurate judgement can be made on the whole sorry saga.

That might be the only version that they have for release, but the throwing onto the floor was always going to cause injury.

Agreed. My strong impression is that was totally out of order. The officer was clearly a very angry or stressed man. I'd like a chance to see the content edited out to see if the lady's conduct was a part of that.

I think the complete video would be interesting but the throwing on the floor is out of order.

Re: Wiltshire policeman faces sack for cell attack on woman

I read this story yesterday, reading between the lines I came up with the conclusion that this women was not the wholly innocent victim she is being heralded as.

Yes the policeman was heavy handed, and her hitting the floor was nasty and shouldn't have happened.

But she was arrrested for suspicion of drink driving and she refused to give a breath test. She also admitted in the report that she refused to go with the policeman when asked which is why she was forced.

I'm certain that if this women had been compliant and docile, none of this would have happened.

I'm not excusing the police, but this women did herself no favours and she should not be allowed to attribute 100% of the blame on the police.

Re: Wiltshire policeman faces sack for cell attack on woman

Why did he have to drag her across the custody suite and then chuck her in the cell?

Because she was being placid and compliant?

Remember people, this came from the Mail

Police took Ms Somerville into custody after she spent the night asleep in her car in a rural lane. They say she was arrested because she refused to
provide a breath sample – something she strongly denies. Although she was later charged, the police dropped the case against her.
she was asleep not driving.

Quote:
the officer involved – 6ft 3in, powerfully built former soldier Mark Andrews – was brought before a court.
SUCH A HARD MAN

I don't.

Everyone on here saying that they spout BS does not inspire me to buy it. And if they say it spouts BS and tells lies on here, it must be true.
