Tell us what you really think Arthur. It's difficult for some of us to read between the lines.

Fairly accurate description except I do not see any lovely wife, but then again I always thought she was a bit of a hound.

I knew he a had a wife, but that's a bit harsh on the baby - how can it be a spoilt git at only 10 months old?

Re: Rooney Exposed
Pondering the fact that if he had been out with a supermodel the remarks might have phoar! but because he paid he's the scum of the earth..
Anyway as Stuart pointed it hardly seems the sort of news that would last this long.

I thought that - good job Arthur doesn't have to have his command of English checked to verify his residential qualification - we might be looking at compulsory deportation
As for Rooney - his private life should remain just that, in my opinion.
Assessment of his 'performance' on the field, however, should be completely objective - & based on what I saw in the World Cup he is worth about £50 a week, not £50,000 ..

Re: Rooney Exposed
Looks like another footballer is set to be exposed in the coming weeks.

Quote:
A Premier League footballer is set to be unmasked by the senior High Court judge who lifted the super injunction banning the naming of England and Chelsea star John Terry.
Mr Justice Tugendhat ruled today that the player, who claimed his human ‘right to privacy’ would be breached if he was named, should be named.

Re: Rooney Exposed
I have always found john terry to be smug so i doubt there will be anything coming out about him in the coming weeks that will worsen my opinion of him. Footballer's are paid a fantastic amount of money for what they do these days and are role models for younger people it is only right and proper they be exposed when they do something they shouldn't. Perhaps if we got most of the money out of the game so it wasn't such a passion for fame and fortune we could get back to a time where the passion was purely for the pitch and the club you played for.

Re: Rooney Exposed
Surely it's up to us parents to educate our children as to who're suitable role models and who aren't. My eldest loves Rooney as a player but certainly doesn't see him as any form of role model.

Re: Rooney Exposed
Yes it is upto to us as parents to guide them in their choice of role model i never said or suggested otherwise. Where it gets very hard if not impossible for us parents is when football players first start out and are good clean role models that you highlight to your kids as something to aspire too only for that to be blown apart a few years later when they turn into the self obsessed money minded sleaze machines that many in the premier league become. Yes there are exceptions as there are with everything but these people know what they are getting themselves into most of the time. Once upon a time i can remember many managers who would have taken very firm action against a player that did anything to bring shame or negative press to his club. Now no one cares unless it starts to hit the bottom line then you see firm action but other then that anything goes.

Sadly, the world's full of people who seemingly start out OK and go bad... Take a look at Westminster for many more examples of people who've done that and they don't have the stereotypical footballer's childhood lack of values, education and/or opportunity to blame it on. There've also been one or two football managers who've not exactly covered themselves in glory over the years. We can't force people to be 'role models' or make it part of the job description. It's up to us all to decide who's in our personal list of role models and edit that list as and when events dictate. What's also true is that in the past an awful lot of appalling behaviour was never exposed by the media in the way it is today - some of our biggest heroes weren't exactly as white as they appeared. I don't think our footballers are any worse than anyone else in similarly high profile lifestyles, it's just that revealing the grubby detail surrounding them sells more papers and makes money. It'd be nice if eveyone who made it to the top of their profession or vocation was a credit to their field but that's never going to happen and it's just as true of politicians, actors, musicians, journalists, businessmen etc. as it is of footballers.
