Or, it could just be regarded as salacious muck-raking, allowing people prurient glimpses into the pecadilloes of the so-called "rich and famous" - bread and circuses to keep the masses entertained, otherwise they may start thinking about serious issues, and that wouldn't do, would it?

Your first post seemed to suggest that as long as he was scoring goals then that's all that matters.

I'm not in the least shocked by his behaviour.

My point is that I would rather any young lads try to copy the example of the David Beckhams of this world than the Rooney's, Coles and Terrys.

I would how much harder it would be for trouser zips to come down if it meant these cheats lost the privilige of representing their country.

Re: Rooney Exposed

I wonder if he had a 'code of conduct' in his contract with Manchester United and I would like them to oust him forwith for bringing shame on the club by association.

Same goes for his association with the England squad and his sponsors.
Hubby (huge MUFC fan) says he wishes so too but that it won't happen.

I would like to see those agencies take a stance.

Unfortunately for Rebecca, friends of Victoria Beckham were also at the Ananda that night and got word to Victoria in New York that her husband seemed rather too friendly with his personal assistant. Victoria, not unnaturally, was furious and resolved to give Rebecca what is known in Essex parlance as "an earful".

Victoria Beckham has spoken for the first time about David's alleged affair with Rebecca Loos - admitting it was a serious test on their marriage.

if it wasnt for the fact that Victoria Beckham is such a strong person this may have gone the wrong way for David

Re: Rooney Exposed

OK, replace the name Beckham with the name of a footballer who promotes a set of family values and morals nearer to what you'd hope today's youths would copy and aspire to.

Lest my point be missed

Giggsy? Scholes?

My veins may be filled with the MUFC-colour of red but I have no problem in saying Rooney's been an idiot here. Kind of makes his World Cup "It's great to have your own fans booing you" comment even more rich.

Yes everyone is entitled to a private life and unfortunately people do stray in marriages but he cannot fail to be aware of his status as a role-model for millions. That title is tainted somewhat by his attitude on the pitch to referees but this just makes it worse.

Although let's not forget all the wannabe-WAGs out there who only want to bag a footballer purely for his money and lifestyle. I see them as being equally morally-bankrupt.

As a MUFC fan it must make you wonder if this is affecting his form in anyway.

As you show above he does have role models he could learn a thing or two from within his own team.

If the allegations are true it just goes to show that the old saying does ring true when they say that "A leopard cannot change its spots" as he has been down this road before.

Hence that after last weeks front page the NOTW have reverted to form this week.

A code of conduct is a good point, but I am not sure about ousting him though, there is a few million quid involved here.

Maybe Fergie should put him in the reserves for a few months and cut his pay accordingly.

We have to assume that this story is true though. I would have thought that Rooney or his agents would have defended this revelation by now if it was a complete lie.
