Stupid Jeremy Clarkson
Quote:
Clarkson, along with co-presenters Richard Hammond and James May, had been discussing how drivers are distracted by female pedestrians.
He said: “This is an important bit of news, I really want to bring this up. People imagine that the most dangerous time of the year to drive is November or perhaps February - dark nights, fog, ice.
“But we were talking about this the other day and we think the most dangerous time to drive a car is round about now. Sunny skies, light breezes, girls wearing short skirts, because the thing is, you can't not look. You can't physically not look."
Hammond then said: “You can physically not use your mobile phone and it's easy not to drive home when you've had 18 pints of lager. But when you're driving along and a girl walks past, you have to look.
"Actually, do you not think that here, there is actually a case for the burka? Because then the problem would go away.”
Clarkson replied: “No, no, no. Honestly, the burka doesn't work. I was in a cab in Piccadilly the other day when a woman in a full burka crossing the road in front of me tripped over the pavement, went head over heels and up it came, red g-string and stockings. I promise that happened. The taxi driver will back me up on that.”

I know, but there will be people that don't find it funny.

Lots of women would probably find it funny...though some (and I think it would be a small amount) would find it offensive, but its Topgear...they aren't known for being P.C at the best of times.

It was funny and I laughed, job done.
The Daily Telegraph is days behind events as per usual, and so is Gary.

There isn't. as long as they don't all start tripping head over heels in the streets now.

Re: Stupid Jeremy Clarkson
Its called satire and is designed to make a point - which it did extremly well on quite a few levels. I laughed like a drain  maybe if more people laughed at them then so many wouldnt be afraid !!!!!!

Re: Stupid Jeremy Clarkson
The funniest part is that the Telegraph have a pulled a one-liner out and turned it into 'joins the debate'. British journalism at its finest.

Re: Stupid Jeremy Clarkson
No matter what someone will say, there's a person or group of people in this country just waiting to be offended so they can complain.
Not only should they get a life and a sense of humour but its actually true. I can't vouch for his each story (it would have to be a hell of a trip to see if a woman in a burka is wearing stockings) but in my day-to-day life I end up seeing a lot of women in burkas. Frequently I often catch the sight of high heeled/stilletto shoes underneath. I even saw one the other day carrying a leopard print handbag. Fancy that. Bet Lynch is now a muslim.

Re: Stupid Jeremy Clarkson
Might sound abit unhealthy but I was thinking about you today Gary, thought it was odd you hadn't posted about this
I dont understand what the fuss is about as said some seem to lack a sense of humour. I say fuss, I think I read there had been 7 complaints. If the media didnt print the story and make it front page news it wouldnt even be getting a mention.

Re: Stupid Jeremy Clarkson
So as far as I can tell, nobody has complained or been 'offended' about this.
Bit of a non-story then.
