Scary article, apart from the oil spill the dispersents they are using there, which are banned in the uk, are quite toxic in themselves. Also possibility of it spreading to the Atlantic & causing greater environmental damage. But most people won't give it a thought, out of sight, out of mind.

I have the feeling that if he dropped dead of exhaustion they'd cheer.

America is america when they do something they would prefer people to forget it and move on without too much fuss, however when they feel something has been done to them they expect the world to revolve around them till they are happy. I think despite what they are doing in trying to make this a british thing the world can see this for what it is and will respond accordingly in terms of how america is viewed and that damage will last a long time after the oil has been cleaned up and gone.

Obama's drilling ban has been challenged in court and U.S. Judge Martin Feldman has said he will decide by Wednesday whether to overturn the ban.

Interesting factoid.

The TOTAL AMOUNT OF OIL in the Macondo (BP gulf) oil field will supply global demand for between 7 and 26 hours, based on BP's volume estimates (25-100million barrels). Think about this.

I'm posting this here because it sounds so familiar.

Basically, General McChrystal, who is command of the ISAF (international force in Afghanistan) criticised Obama and Obama's chums. He's now being summoned to the White House.

BBC's Washington correspondent, said this:

But the public humiliation of Gen McChrystal could still be meant to make Mr Obama look tough in the face of an impertinent general. Calls are growing in Washington for his sacking, particularly from Democrats.

This is after a gushing apology for things, of which at least some, seemed very relevent.

Same thing as with Hayward. Obama is hitting people who have little or no defence to make himself look 'big' and 'tough'. But really he is just being made to look like a bully.

So now instead of being merely incompetent, now it looks like Obama may have knowingly took a risky gamble by pushing forward on the Deepwater Horizon well as a preparation for the attack on Iran!

Senator Lemieux says, “I think it is outrageous that we only have 20 skimmers off the coast of Florida. There are 2000 skimmers in the United States and we haven’t even asked as a federal government for those skimmers to come into the gulf….the federal government who wants to take over every other aspect of our life can’t get this one thing right…”

President Obama’s response about the skimmers not being used was, “We can’t take these skimmers from other places in the country because they might have an oil spill!” What?!?

There is a lot more to all this that we don't know about and obama does and i think that goes someway to explaining his attitude and response to this. As for him being a bully he always was the guy doesn't like opponents of any kind and has a chip on his shoulder big enough to keep a chippie in business for years. Only good thing coming of all this is i think the mask is slipping with obama and more and more people are getting a true look at the real man rather then the pr myth he has made so much of in the past.

The more I hear about this, the more I think something stinks, and I'm not talking about the Oil.

I don't think the US government is being entirely honest in this. In fact I would go so far as to suggest that they may be covering up something. I am not saying BP is in the right here. I don't know that they are. I do, however, think they are being used as a scapegoat.
