Make 999 calls about £20 a shot instead of being free. At a stroke that'll cut down on the timewasters and if you really need the Ambulance/Fire Brigade/Police you won't care what it costs.
And we can scrap the police & ambulance part from the ever raising council tax?
a friend of mine is a paramedic here in Wales and he was telling me about some of the people who ring.
1 Woman rang up and requested an ambulance because her daughter was feeling a little low. A Bloke rang up saying he was feeling as if he was going to pass out, when the ambulance got there he told the ambulance crew it may be because "I did a 20hr shift, not eaten and have had no sleep".
