France 'to shut down Calais camp'

Quote:
French authorities are to close a migrant squatter camp outside Calais by the end of this year, the country's immigration minister has said.

Speaking on a visit to the port, Eric Besson said the camp, known as "the jungle", would "not exist any more".

Calais has become a magnet for migrants trying to enter the UK illegally.

There are estimated to be about 1,000 people living in makeshift camps which sprang up after France closed the Sangatte refugee centre in 2002.

In remarks made to businesspeople during a visit to Calais and broadcast on France radio, Mr Besson said: "I'm telling you in advance that we won't allow this situation to deteriorate, that the jungle will not exist any more."
Quote:
The French and British governments are currently discussing the creation of a new immigrant holding centre within the British-controlled zone of the Calais docks.

Well thanks Mr Brown, once again you are on the verge of messing up this country even more, if that is possible?
There discussing a new migrant camp "nearer" to Britain, in the Calais British owned part.
Imagine the influx when this opens.
Damn, can't we for once just simply shut our boarders to every immigrant who wants to come here in future.
I hate this country, seriously, a shithole in the making.

I wish the French (or others) would just grab them before they enter the EU...

Just imagine if we had the open borders like the rest of the EU

Open more gates... The more threatened people feel, the more they might get off the couch/internet/whatever, and do something about it. But I doubt it. Let's not go to the grave kicking.

Alls they are doing is rounding them up and dumping them to us.
Why don't we simply just not allow them in?
Let them rot in France, there are in there country afterall.
Weren't we the worst enemy's not so long ago?
I wish it would go back to them days.

Re: France 'to shut down Calais camp'

The last time we fought France was in 1815; funnily enough, the year before, we attacked Washington and set fire to the Presidential Mansion - should we also be the US's worst enemy as well?

Wow I've missed your "insightful" posts ginge, I like many others have no desire to see these "drifters" in France make it over here, but going to war with the French nation does seem a little extreme.
