Simple as that.
Your world must be very black and white indeed, I wonder if "you'd care" if it had been a member of your family?

I take it you have not seen the news where it shows his normal route home and where he was redirected to go by Police, watch the news then comment.

Re: G20 Protests

Here we go, People are ' assuming ' what happened, from the pictures, that l saw, the policeman, hit the poor guy on the leg, there was no sound on TV on what happened, they guy was walking with his hands in his pockets, did the poor guy say anything, we don't know, did the PC tell him to move, we don't know,.

These coppers were there, to do a job, to control the crowd, to prevent damage etc, a couple of minutes later, the poorr guy goes down, and has a heart attack, he is then treated by police medics, SO as l said, before people ASSUME what happen, l suggest we all wait to see the verdict, obviously, you will have witnesses, hopefully correct witnesses, then we will know.

OMG so now there is a correct way to assault innocent people.

The police shouldn't be hitting anyone EXCEPT in self defence.

What bloody planet are all you 'defenders' living on.

Maybe if our arrogant self serving government LISTENED to the people they wouldn't have to resort to violence to get heard!

I am assuming nothing - The picture clearly shows the officer pushing Mr Tomlinson from behind. What else could be deduced with such clear evidence right in front of us?

Officers are trained in protest situations to ignore provocation. So if something was shouted at the officer from the now deceased Mr Tomlinson, he shouldn't have retaliated in the manner he did. Even if Mr Tomlinson had not have died, it is still an assault which is an arrestable offense.

Former Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone raised a valid point on the Channel 4 news show, that what is this trend with Police officers wearing balaclavas? What is that all about?

Quite right baton hitting etiquette just isn't taken seriously enough these days

On a more serious note the police officer has come forward

The same reason the average hoodie wears one to prevent easy identification as otherwise you need the helmet code on the back of his head, and as if riot police are going to let people get behind them.

Sky News are now just reporting the cop who pushed Mr Tomlinson to floor just before he died, has been suspended from duty.

Not a shock, all pretty normal during any kind of employee investigation.

Shoulder/collar numbers (the same as the ones on a public order helmet) are still on display.

He identified himself to his manager and the IPCC yesterday as fresh pictures suggested he had removed his shoulder number and covered his face with a balaclava before hitting Tomlinson with a baton and then pushing him to the ground on Cornhill, in the City of London, last Wednesday.

Yes, but it also indicates, with pictorial evidence that he wasn't trying to get home as much as people think and he was trying to disrupt the police as much as possible.

Re: G20 Protests

Whether he was going home or not or tormenting the Police - it doesn't justify in any way shape or form a push from behind when a person has their hands in their pockets and has little chance if any to recover from a fall - and if he was drunk, it is even worse as there is a delayed reaction time.
