UK submits Atlantic seabed claim
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7418723.stm
Interesting!
Quote:
The UK is also considering whether to make similar claims relating to two other areas, around Rockall and the Falklands but has until May next year to inform the CLCS of its intentions.
Last year, exploration firms announced their intention to begin drilling the South Atlantic ocean bed surrounding the Falklands to try to prove the region is rich in oil reserves.

Guess we'll need Maggie back then.Because if it's Gordon he'll dither so much, the deadline will pass and Argentina will get in.

I hope your joking.. Brown may be a ditherer, but I'd take that anyday rather than resurrect the Thatch. Anyway, if anyone has a claim to the seabed around either Rockall or the Falklands, it can only be Britain because these are sovereign territories.

This has been known for years that the area around the Falklands was rich with oil.

I just love this blind faith in the Brown stain that is our Prime minister. He has managed in the space of six months to turn this country in to a fetid pile of dingoes kidneys, And that was being nice so as not to upset the Mods and there swear filter

I've got no great love for Brown at all, I was stressing I would rather be stuck with him than the Thatch.

Re: UK submits Atlantic seabed claim
Forget Thatcher, I'd rather have Lembit Opik and the Cheeky Girls running UK PLC than Gordon Brown!*
*The man who, ever since he sold off half the nation's gold reserves at rock bottom prices, has developed his very own version of the 'midas' touch which, rather than pure gold, involves turning everything he touches into brown, sitcky, smelly stuff!

Re: UK submits Atlantic seabed claim
HALLO!
This is NOT a thread about Brown,Thatcher or any other political figure.
Lets debate the issue of possible new oil sources.
