Re: NASA To Announce Massive Discovery
I suggest they are laying ante post odds on life being discovered in the solar system and want to keep the odds high until the aliens make an appearance. I just got a 1000 to 1 at my local bookie !

Public walk around oblivious to it, they dont complain when it creates nice new technology for them though lol.

I'm afraid you might have a point there Trax, from the average persons point of view since the moon landings in the late 60s early 70s not a lot has happened. Of course that isn't the case, but it seems to me NASA need something big to capture the public mood again, especially from a British point of view as our government has cut our "space" budget which in turn means our scientists have lost access to some of the worlds largest telescopes for research. BTW I'm putting my money on there being life under the frozen wastes of Europa, if its anywhere in our system its there.

Re: NASA To Announce Massive Discovery
It'll probably end up being something boring like they have found vague evidence of water on Mars and want the funding to send a manned mission there.
Anything for a bit of publicity at a time when their spending is likely to be cut in half.

Re: NASA To Announce Massive Discovery
Apparently the Hubble Space Telescope mysteriously lost orientation momentarily a while back and sent back a series of images of a vast, inexplicable, semi-gaseous mass. Rumour has it that after exhaustive computer analysis it turned out to be John Prescott sunbathing....

Re: NASA To Announce Massive Discovery
The sigh of John Prescott naked is enough to make anyone or anything lose orientation

Just a reminder, the announcement is coming this evening, 6pm BST
