Come on, it's not my fault this was printed by The Rough Guide!
And seriously, Blackwood has enough problems to worry about instead of boy racers. I'm currently staying in Barry (oo-er) and they're everywhere..

Re: England is 'irritating'
On the whole its not a bad portrait of modern England, and fairly accurate too.

Re: England is 'irritating'
A spokesman for the company said he believed would-be visitors would recognise that the comments were "tongue-in-cheek".
Bit like when you were flogging books for countries no one in your company had been to I suppose

Agreed.
And I disagree with this too:

That's way too much of a generalisation for my liking.
Twaddle.

Re: England is 'irritating'
Or we could focus on the positive comments
"But in turn none is more "fascinating, beautiful and culturally diverse", with such "an unparalleled range of historic buildings, monuments and landscapes". Oxford is "superb", Bath "unmissable" and Newcastle "vibrant", it adds"
&
"it's also a country where individuality and creativity flourish, fuelling a thriving pop culture and producing one of the most dynamic fashion, music and arts scenes to be found anywhere"
I'm more of a "glass half full" kind of person, myself
