As I said before, if I told you that I'm going to send my imaginary friend Drop-dead-fred round to give you moral support throughout your lifetime, would you think that I actually give much of a damn about you?

I honestly would not care. Nothing personal, I would say the same if anyone said that to me.

You're becoming rather patronising yourself with that statement Russ, & disingenuous...

My apologies, that wasn't my intention. The point I tried to make is the bulk of his message is surely tolerance. Had he encouraged distrust of non-believers I'm sure there's be enough to say.

Anyway just to correct a few points, I would answer your points however you would routinely fail to accept my responses and simply repeat them. If you have no intentions of accepting answers why should I (or any of the others) waste our time? For almost 2 years the signature you used was incorrect and despite my offers to correct it, you chose to keep it.
Kind of gives the impression that regardless of the answers I give, you will keep your view. That's fine if that's how you work but then please don't complain when we give on answering you.
|
Are you saying in your local area there are no vicars?
Its a discussion Russ, I should not have to just take your answers if I feel the need to question them for further clarification (as your answers are normally rather vague and non-commital, even from the start).
As for the quote from Thorax, are you saying that many religious people do not believe that humans have souls and animals do not, and that is the reason why humans are able to enter heaven and animals just die? Pretty sure that's a common belief...
I would not let you modify it Russ simply because I find you untrustworthy, as I explained to you at the time.

Many people would care though Russ, if they're going through hard times, and someone came up to them and said "It's ok, my imaginary friend will be there with you" it really belittles the troubles they are going through.

There might be but how would I know what they talk about?

But it's more than that isn't it. No answer I would give would be enough for you.

Tomorrow I will go in to greater detail on how Thorax got it wrong.

Clearly, seeing as you've accused me of child abuse purely because I bring my daughter up in Christianity.

If you go to your death by refusing blood then make sure you have private insurance to pay for the upbringing of your children and dont leave it to non believing tax payers like me.

Which suggests that you don't think there are religious people who believe that only humans have souls. I have to tell you there are, I've met some of them.

Was that before or after you said "tough luck" when I pointed out you worshiped a diety which would see them dead and therefore believed they should die?
Teaching a child that a murderer and tyrant is loving and caring is abuse, especially when you neglect to tell them about the tyrany and slaughtering, just as someone bringing their child up to be a neonazi is abuse.

To a point he is correct however his quotation is inaccurant and I will demonstrate why tomorrow.

I was hoping never to bring up your accusations of abuse again (you at least had the testicular fortitude to admit that's what you believed, unlike others) however I'm off to bed now so I'll leave eveyone else to read the above and form their own opinion.
