Your never really going to win such an argument as our side states nothing exists and as the religious side offers us nothing in the way of proof then the argument stays at stalemate and just runs the risk of putting doubt into your minds.
I've done my bit, I have brought 2 healthy atheists into the world and hopefully ended religious beliefs in my family.
ps3,xbox the internet etc will do religion more damage then I ever could.

The flip side is sometimes believers tend to think non believers are missing out on something wonderful and they so like to share it, but then that's where it gets dodgy. I feel that believers do tend to feel superior because they have something that others don't so that change certain views on subject, often not in a good way.
Live and let live though.

I in no way feel superior to anyone. I am inferior because I failed my calling I could not live the life expected of me it was to hard. I believe in God but I know I failed him

I've never shied away from anything you have put to me. For about 2 years I went toe-to-toe with you on any subject but my motivation waned when it became you have no desire to find out genuine answers but instead to push your own distain of religion on to those who have it in their lives. You would wheel out the same tired phrases and googled questions regardless of my answering you. I have never been one to waste peoples time, least of all my own. As a result I no longer answer your recurring points but I sure will post to redress your inaccuracies.

If that's how you live your life then all the power to you. However if your motivation is just to belittle and try to shake the faith of those who have beliefs then that is where the discussion ends.

I enjoy theological discussions coggy.

I don't really, but I get drawn in to play devils advocate(pun intended). If me nore Russ posted in this thread it would have all be "bad Archbishop bad religion" and that would not have been fair

Unfortunately it sounds more like abuse to me...and that you have an itch to scratch. Frankly life is too short for such crap and I'd rather dwell on similarities rather than dwell on the differences between me and others.

Not insisting that we should believe, but telling us that God is active in our lives.
So if I said the Agnostic creed was active in Christians lives what response would I get?
I'm not saying that believers & Agnostics shouldn't co-exist, but I object to being told that a deity I don't acknowledge the existence of influences my life....

The same answer Christoper Hitchens gave when asked by Richard Dawkins why if he had the opportunity wouldn't he "magic" religion away. Mind you he did add he liked to expose all the flaws and hypocrisy that went hand in hand with religion.

it would matter not to me dude I do not let things like that get to me im more concerned about the rising cost of living.
Objecting to its fine but any degree of stress upset or anger is a negative emotional response that will only cause you harm

Hypocrisy is not the sole domain of those with faith.

Re: Christians told to treat atheists and agnostics with "deep esteem"
I just don't see how it matters if someone thinks their god loves me.
As long as they don't want me dead or anything I just don't care.
And I've had some religous people at my door screaming that very thing in my face, now THAT I cared about.
