The Boris Johnson Thread
I think we are going to see some fun in the coming years so post 'em here.
Johnson bans drink on transport
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7387113.stm
Quote:
But the Rail Maritime and Transport (RMT) Union's leader Bob Crow said: "We are in favour of any measure that will make our members' lives safer and curb anti-social behaviour, but it appears that this really hasn't been thought through very well and could well make matters worse.
"We are being told that it will be our members who will have to approach people drinking and ask them to stop - but the mayor hasn't asked us what we think.
"Perhaps the mayor will come out with his underpants on over his trousers like Superman one Saturday to show us how it should be done, and maybe tell a crowd of Liverpool supporters that they can't drink on the train."

Re: The Boris Johnson Thread
I was hoping Ken would have won another term but I do think Boris will offer a refreshing change as Mayor. I loved it when he stumbled as he was walking on to give his acceptance speech, and quick as a flash he said "last minute booby trap......"
You have to give it to him, he is very witty and it should be an interesting spell with him in charge.

Re: The Boris Johnson Thread
A noble sentiment, but ultimately won't achieve anything. If you're the kind of horrible scrote who causes trouble for other people, then why would you suddenly adhere to a new rule? The same rule applied to the whole of Coventry City Centre and noone adhereed to it.
Although with regards to enforcing it, they should get Bob Crow to enforce it. He's a vicious bully who is quite adept at pushing people around and getting what he wants.

You are aware he is the new the Mayor of London now I hope, and I/we expect to be hugely entertained by Borisisms for the next 4 years at least.
This thread is reserved for any Borisisms or footinmouthitus that occur during his reign.

Re: The Boris Johnson Thread
Its a bit out of date, but I haven't see this speech in full before, and its brilliant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-30KirqKVI
The best part is Boris trying to find the River Thames from City Hall.
A picture, for all you non-Londoners:

I'm afraid my attention wandered after 5 minutes and my eyes glazed over after 8 minutes.

Yes it won't be dull I'm sure. I notice he's already dispensed with the dubious services of some senior LDA penpushers but the really interesting bit could come if he uncovers some dodgy dealings at City Hall...

Re: The Boris Johnson Thread
Well your pity would be a lot better placed if in electing Boris we hadn't ditched that obnoxious dictator Red Ken.

Re: The Boris Johnson Thread
One of my favourites was when Boris was speaking at the last Tory conference and the camera switched to Arnold Schwarzenegger who was waiting to speak, he was over heard saying, "this guy has lost it" in reference to Borises standard bumbling.
