The law is an horse!
If only they'd go to these sort of lengths to catch real criminals? Hang on, there's no money in that is there.

These sort of lengths?
It's a box costing a couple of hundred quid on a box with a camera they would already have sitting inside it. It's hardly going to bankrupt the force.
Besides there are plenty of examples of 'real' criminals being caught by unusual methods, rat trap cars, bugged houses etc.

Re: The law is an horse!
What a scam. That's all the police do these days, hide in bushes or where ever they can get just to catch a motorist going 1mph or so over the limit and wham, you have a fine and penalty points which is a penilising punishment.
I agree with you Enuff...they would never do anything like this to stop drug dealers etc..afterall, they are not making any money from it.
Anyway, i thought it was illegal to video camera anyone without a notice, this is what a neighbour was told after he wanted to install CCTV looking across the road at his car.
Two comments take from the site above..

Wasn't there legislation that said all speed cameras had to be clearly visible and marked? Hence them being painted yellow? How is this any different from painting speed cameras in camouflage and hiding them in trees? Ridiculous, in a time where crime in North Wales is higher than ever, our police force is out playing with horse boxes. Get on the beat and catch some real criminals!

Ye, but catching real offenders would.

Interesting to hear that North Wales Police are using horse boxes as disguise for speed cameras ! - Can we expect at some time in the future Policeman will be dressed as trees and jump out in front of us ?

Only for private individuals, as we have 4 million CCTV cameras in the UK being used by national and local government and businesses.

But why..? Does not make sense..the police can put a camera where they like looking at who they like but you cannot put a camera looking at your property just...its silly!
Anyway, i think he went ahead and did it anyway. Least he now knows that his property may not be secure but he will sure have an image of the perpetrators.

And be breaking the data protection act and if he doesn't have a PPS licence he could face a hefty fine and imprisonment regardless of any signs he puts up

So would the police then. It's all a load of bull just like the speed camera on this topic. Just another way to make money.

Ah so thats why you claim not to see any Police any more, and when you do they are all breaking the law.
I would be absolutely astounded if anyone was ever done for going 1MPH over the limit. You get a bit of leeway above the limit in case your speedo isn't fully calibrated.
At the end of the day the speed limits are well known and if you are going well over them you can't really complain when you get done.

All of these I suppose are lies pedled by the liberal media to cover up the incompetence and driver-targetting of the Police are they?

No they can't. There are rules about where they are situated the same as everyone else.

Re: The law is an horse!
As a copper mate said to me, if coppers do nothing all day, then why are the prisons so damn full?
Remember the allegedly liberal judges give tiny sentences out, so you can't blame them either.

Codswallop. I very much doubt it happened that way.
*IF* he did get a Notice of Intended Prosecution for that any half-decent lawyer would get him off in a jiffy, in fact it wouldn't even get to court.
From here.

Under current Association of Chief Police Officer guidelines, drivers are given an allowance of 10 per cent plus 1 mph over the limit. This means they will not be fined at speeds lower than 35mph on a 30mph road, 46mph on a 40mph road and 79mph on a 70mph road.

Well you said the Police don't bother going after drug dealers as they didn't make money from them. Those links were a selection of drugs busts in the last week.
That was a 3 minute google search, I'm sure there were lots more that didn't make the news.
