Re: michael jackson
In the 80s he was diagnosed with vitiligo and lupus. This is what changed his skin colour, and the mask? I guess that's cause of the bad plastic surgery he had...

That's just it... I've met people suffering with vitiligo, and they tend not to go a nice, uniform shade of white. They go blotchy.
Admittedly, it *is* possible he has gone blotchy and has bleached the rest of his skin to match.

Re: michael jackson
Yep as others have mentioned he suffers from a skin condition and he decided to have various treatments and plastic surgery which really changed his appearence.
He has not only put masks on himself but I have even seen photos of his kids with masks.
Although he is a great performer on stage, his way of life is very strange.
He was accused of child crimes several times and there have never really been any solid prosecutions carried out against him.
His way of life however doesnt help him to be accepted.
I think his career is over. He should now retire and chill out. After such a long time in the public eye, wouldnt you want some peace and quiet ?!
I think his best days was with the Bad and Dangerous album.

Have to agree with you there. I saw him in 1988 in Aintree (I was 11 on that day and was convinced dad had 'ordered' him for my birthday Oh the naivety!) and he was such an entertainer. Bonnie Lagford walked past me with George Michael but it didn't matter, i didn't give them a second glance as my hero was on stage

Re: michael jackson
I think a lot of his problems are down to mental heath problems due to his upbringing

Re: michael jackson
isnt he also now broke? I expect a lot went on paying off people who prosecuted him to drop their cases.

Re: michael jackson
It's hard to ignore the press, but I find myself able to distinguish between the man and the music.
The Jackson 5 (ABC, I want You Back, I'll Be There, Can You Feel It, Blame It On The Boogie etc), and MJ solo (Off The Wall (Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough, Rock with You, Off the Wall) and Thriller (Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat It) - seminal albums regardless of anyone's taste or opinion) - this man was once the epitome of pop music.
Probably J5 more than MJ solo shaped the music of the era and made the foundation for the genre.
MJ is cuckoo, la-la, whatever - no denying it. He may well be guilty of all the terrible things he's been accused of too.
BUT, he was an inspiration to a generation of music.
You can't just write that off.
If what he allegedly did is wrong then fine, it's wrong - I agree.
It doesn't make his music bad.
All my opinion of course, and hope I made a point there without seeming lofty.
He was a superstar of the highest order once. What happened after shouldn't reflect on the past.

Re: michael jackson
You just have to listen to Thriller to never be tired of it.
