WTF just happened in TS19 ... U.F.O.

I wanted to post about this straight away but was told to 'behave'

I live in Stockton on Tees, about a half hour ago, we had a power cut, all across the neighbourhood, I thought, no biggie, I opened the patio doors after re-setting the house alarm. When I opened the patio doors I heard a noise, helicopter ? air plane ?

I looked up and saw a tri-angle shaped 'craft' similar to a stealth bomber I would guess ( not having seen one for real ) this thing looked more like an open V, with lights at the rear, it passed over the roof tops quiet low, then the left hand side lights went out, and it carried on. I shouted at Liz to look out of the window, she was busy with her phone

Now I'm not saying E.T. but did anyone else see this, well weird, whatever it was.

And no, I'm not phissed or on drugs, this was spooky

Was it green by any chance

But on a serious note..you often see objects that look like "v's" flying over here...but i live right next to an army base so...*shrug* weird none the less.

We live not so far from an Army base and an Airforce base, second U.F.O. that I've seen, the first was seen by 1000's of others that phoned the local ( TFM ) radio station ( 20 years ago )

Yes and no, I used the stealth's tri shape as a rough guide, as I said though, it was more V shaped, almost like a catamaran that was joined at the front.

I live in TS10, havent seen anything here. I do believe you however, i have seen a UFO myself flying high in the atmosphere on a clear night around 2AM. Ruled it out to be anything man made, and it also wasnt a meteoroid as it was in the sky for about an hour. (Hobby is astronomy).

How fast was it going? height? approx..

If it was a B2 it would indeed be faster and wouldnt been seen for long,and a lot higher than say a couple of hundred feet.

So your not 'that' far away, you had no blackout ?

Speed was hard to tell, faster than a heli and slower than a plane, I guess

but low above the houses and

stealthy. Hard to explain, I had my phone in hand using the light function, I panicked I guess, yelling at Liz to look before I thought about the camera function

TS17 here and heard nothing (not that I can remember) and never had a blackout.

It was an Orange ball in the distance, it past behind a lamp post in the foreground, disappearing out of view and never appeared the other side

As I said, between a heli and a plane ... ish, it was quiet and very low.

Anyhow, as I said, not talking E.T. as I travelled to work in Brummie land today, I passed the R.A.F Leeming airbase on the A1, there was a police presence on the perimeter fence, lights flashing and a lot of cars with 'anorak people' looking into the base. So it 'might' seem that there was a launch of some kind from there last night. It will be interesting to see if the papers pick up on it

Its a shame you could not get a pic of it!!

I usually go up to Ilkley Moors at night or near Menwith Hill and there is alot of dodgy things happening in the sky.

Lastime i went up there i saw weird flashes in the sky and then they dissapeard and then re-appeared halfway accross the sky. I'll be taking a camera next time so hopefully, may get something.

The trouble with "UFO" is that as soon as you say you've seen one, people think you're either mad, or on the magic mushrooms again. Unfortunately, UFO's have become synonymous with 'Aliens'

We've all seen plenty of UFO's. All a UFO is is an UNIDENTIFIED Flying Object. It doesn't have to be alien to be a UFO. If you can't identify it, it's umm, unidentified!

If you saw a Stealth bomber 20 years ago, you could have genuinely said "I've seen a UFO". But now we all know what they look like, it's no longer a UFO.

It stands to reason that if you live near an air force base, you're gonna see a UFO or three at some point.

Sounds like you're talking about a flying wing. Flying wings don't have any fuselage, they are all wing, like a "catamaran that was joined at the front".

Also, McDonnell-Douglas and NASA are presently developing and testing prototype Flying Wing/Blended Wing designs, so it could well have been one of these that you saw. Flying wings were first developed back in the 1930's. Cambridge Uni and MIT also have a 'silent' aircraft blended wing project on the go at the moment (to be built in the UK) , although this doesn't look much like the V shaped aircraft you saw.
