That was the point. It was a mickey take of various strategy and role playing games, where the rules change under certain circumstances..

Incidentally, it was created by comedy writer Geoffrey Perkins ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoffrey_Perkins ), who has been involved in some of the best known comedies in the last twenty years such as Spitting Image, Saturday live, Father Ted, KYTV and Ben Elton: The Man From Auntie..

Re: Humphrey Lyttelton Dead
Very sad to hear about Hump's passing - heard him play once in a tent in Leeds and it was probably the best live Jazz i have ever heard
I presume that Samantha and Sven will be distraught and like me will want to go to Mourn-ington Crescent

Re: Humphrey Lyttelton Dead
Found this on Facebook - I think Humf would have liked it RIP
Our chairman gone, we do lament,
A letter Mrs.Trellis sent,
Which stated thrice how she does mourn
The loss of such a massive horn,
And happily we reminisce,
The jazz man we will sorely miss,
His trumpet will be heard no more,
Goodies dvd, now in store.

I should have put a ' ' after the " " I think. I always thought that the Lovely Samantha made up the rules in her tea-break..........
The link was interesting......... and I have to find the Rushton's 'blue plaque' one day.

According to a picture on this page, it's next to a sign for stairs to the Northern Line...
Plus a link to innuendo, Samantha & Humph here...
Quote:

Samantha is the show's fictional scorer, and has an active social life. She once trained opera singers - "having seen what she did to the baritone, the director is keen to see what she might do for a tenor," as Lyttelton put it

Re: Humphrey Lyttelton Dead
On a show from Northampton:
"It was in 973 AD that the Saxon King Edgar regained the town from the Norse king Goodroom, and freed its captive women folk who were all highly impressed with his victory proclamation 'I have the hampton of a Norse'."
There are several more on this page that seems to have been pulled:
http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache...ttleton225.xml
But I can't seem to find my other favourite that went along the lines of:
"Samantha has to nip out to swap photographs with her ornithologist friend. She's going to show him her Chuff and he's going to show her his Twelve Finches".
