Unhappy Caring mum found dead

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/h...cs/7360288.stm

This is so sad and we can only hope the lad involved is found soon. Although the facts are still emerging it seems likely to have been suicide and, if so, other tragic cases come to mind:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/4399832.stm

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/l...re/7063422.stm

Knowing a great many parents of severely disabled children, I can assure anyone who doubts it, that their lives are frequently intolerable as they try to balance the needs of those they care for and their partners, other children, jobs and sadly the appalling attitudes of some members of our society.

Respite care if one can find it at all is extremely limited and special schools are being closed in favour of integration into mainstream education which brings with it yet more problems.

Why is it that our 'government' can find money for hairbrained schemes, dodgy banks and even more dodgy wars yet people like these are left to struggle on with very little help and the system stacked against them?

Our sincere sympathies are with the family involved in this tragedy.

This is awful - the family must be going through hell not knowing if the boy is alive or dead.

I must say, this is a very tragic story. I hope the poor lad's found alive and well.

After reading them other stories, I certainty hope he is found and receives the correct type of help.

Sorry mate. I don't understand what you're saying there?

The linked story says they've found the poor lad's body and he's been murdered.

:edit: I think the story at the link may have been changed since you posted it Osem - apols.

Very sad in any case.

The BBC link changed after I quoted it and too late for me to edit my post.

I just heard about the lad on the TV news and found the above Timesonline link. God only knows what the family and friends are going through but let's just hope that they get the truth sooner rather than later.

Re: Caring mum found dead

Very moving and very true!

Living with and caring for a severely disabled child is one of the most difficult things anyone can experience and few who've done it will say they've never had similar thoughts at times of desperation. Attidutes may be changing but during a radio debate on the subject yesterday I heard comments like 'anyone who has a disabled child should just get on with it!'. As if our lives weren't difficult enough, selfish, uncaring people like that manage to add to the burden.

I really have no idea how some of the people we've come across over the years cope with life, let alone manage to raise a smile from time to time. Happily, one of the things being close to these people does is give others strength to cope with their problems. Their strength, determination and love is very humbling and rather than thinking about all the ways in which we've been unlucky we've come to focus on the positives knowing just how much worse it could be.

Knowing what I do, I could never bring myself judge another parent caring for a severely disabled child, even those for whom it all becomes too much and who finally act out of sheer desperation.

It's a sad indictiment of a so-called civilised country that so many people out there are left to suffer so much and with so little help/support.

Re: Caring mum found dead

I thought his body had been found in someone's house.

This is confusing:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/h...cs/7363537.stm

Quote:
Police said two men had been arrested after a body was found in a property in Church Hill, Redditch.
A police cordon has been put up around part of Loxley Close, Church Hill - near to the family home.
Then:
Quote:
A white tent has also been erected by police in the back garden of a property, believed to be the home of Ms Wardle.
Anyway - matters not.
A tragic ending to a very sad story.
