My recollection is that he and Mugabe were close allies in the Smith years and Mugabe turned nasty towards Nkomo when he sniffed the prospect of ultimate power for himself. Luxury and nasty are of course relative terms and whilst he certainly didn't die a pauper or as a result of state torture, I think Nkomo would've readily swapped the life he subsequently had for the political status and power Mugabe deprived him of.

He's pushing the racism agenda now

Harassing what is left of the White farmers there, I am not sure how this actually helps him though. Is he trying to position himself as the guy who will get rid of the remaining 'whites' or something?

All of which proves that racist bigots don't only come in shades of white.

He's probably just hoping to stir up his more aggressive supporters into the frame of mind required to intimidate anyone who happens to stand in their way - white or not. No doubt he'll be claiming that the opposition is just a front for the great white oppressors.....

Re: Mugabe - could it all be over for the hero turned tyrant?
This is really annoying me know, they attacking all these rural areas which were opposed to Mugabe to intimidate them. Forcing out White Farmers, people who voted against Mugabe, etc etc. It's a clear attempt by Mugabe to retain power.
The UN needs to do something, not saying "well how awful, we certainly don't agree! Bad Mugabe, bad"

Re: Mugabe - could it all be over for the hero turned tyrant?
The last l heard about, this son of a bitch, was that he arranged for the opposition leader to be arrested - again, and that he is stopping all aid workers, from entering the country, which therefore comdemns, his people to death, what angers me, is that ALL foriegn powers are just sitting still, and letting this evil person commit mass murder, l cannot understand why someone, doesn't pay for a vigilnate (l thinks thats how you spell it) to shoot him.

I understand how you feel Arthur but we cannot stoop to the level of this man.He is vile and an absolutely useless leader who has taken a wealthy country to less than subsistence level BUT we cannot just bump him off.
