I remember reading an article in a national newspaper, where a guy, was sitting in his seat talking on a mobile, for two hours, when a guy had a heart attack, the stewardess asked him, to use it to contact the ground and call for an ambulance, she turned to the guy and it turned out to be a fake, as far as l know, you can only use it, on one airline, and l am not sure, what airline that is, on others it is banned.

Holy cow, cant you go anywhere without having to listen to somebody else's inane chatter? its bad enough each day on the train from Brighton to London, but at least you have the option to get up and move. Of course that's not going to be possible on an aircraft, and anyway, why should you have to? We have all managed well enough up till now to be without the need to be in constant contact with the ground, so to the powers that be, PLEASE don't do this.

That sounds very strange that a stewardess would ask a passenger to call an ambulence in mid flight.
If they had any sense they'd contact the flight deck who would alert services on the ground to meet the aircraft at whichever airport they touch down at.
As for mobile phones on planes, I am completly against it !
If I am on a long plane journey I want to relax and most likely fall asleep to help the journey go by. I don't want to be hearing high pitched rubbish ring tones going off in every direction and know that there is some super dooper wave emitting device a couple of rows at the back of me onboard the plane that could 1) be a health hazard, 2) be used to detonate bombs, and 3) interfere with navigation instruments. |

Most flights I've been on recently have had phones built into the back of the seat infront.
Also doubles as a games controller and tv remote.

I dont see the point. Your going to have to pay for the sattelite service so therefore you might as well us the phone thats already in the plane
