Women's 'issues'
Why is it that we're contantly being led to believe that women are in total control of their lives, can effectively juggle careers, kids, lazy husbands etc. and are in all important respects the superior sex when they worry so much about the size, shape and appearance of their bodies? We're told they don't care what we think yet their behaviour indicates otherwise as they search endlessly for the cure for cellulite or the correct bra size. Apparently they only do this to feel good about themselves but then complain when men express their preferences.
We're told us guys only think of one thing yet it appears women spend much of their lives worry about pretty much the same thing. Maybe we aren't so different after all....
Oh and yes we did watch yet another documentary about women issues last night.......

Re: Women's 'issues'
I did used to think it was men's fault in that the only voiced opinion of men was that women should have an hourglass figure with blonde hair and big boobs. However in the last few years (10-15 especially) is that contra-opinions have become more prominent. You have the the phrase which was made famous by American pie (google Stiffler's mom), and the chubby chasers, and now even red hair has become sexy (whereas ginger males are still regarded as freaks). Men have gone as far as they can in saying many women contra to old-opinion are beautiful.
However, even with that, women still try and tell themselves differently. Its not an image issue, its a mental one. The current women's issue is the size 0. I can't find anyone who finds it in the least bit attractive, and even women's magazines point to size 0 women and say how hideous they can be with bony feet or shoulders, but it doesn't matter. Large section of female society are obsessed with it. Like with anorexics who make themselves more hideous thinking they are on the path to beauty, its entirely an mental issue.

Re: Women's 'issues'
Agree - A thorough and exhaustive analysis of my very beautiful and shapely young wife has revealed one major fact - she can receive and instantly forget a thousand genuine compliments yet remember vividly forever just one even remotely unflattering remark..... Rather than concentrating on the myriad of examples of her beauty, she worries about that one tiny blemish ....
How odd...

Get used to it, it's the way it is, sadly. I can't really offer much to this discussion, so i'll just be reading.

Still look like a freak; it's just got nothing to do with the hair

Look, I'm really ugly either way - at least drag makes it ironic

Re: Women's 'issues'
Women have issues about their looks because the world in general STILL relies on a person's looks as a form of snap judgment. Also I've had more adverse comments on my looks from other women than from men-completely unasked for I may add.
Mind I think the men are all busy looking at the fit females on the other side of the street so they just don't notice me at all.

Re: Women's 'issues'
I rememnber when i was dating (before the ball and chain ) and when asked by women what was more important to me i would say personality and they laughed. I think women have a problem maybe it is because of the media that does seem to love playing on the insecurites of women but one thing i am sure of now it is not because men say this or that. It is a curse i think women have to live with in this day and age and wish them luck with it. Personally i have a podge am not exactly brad pitt and i really couldn't care less i am happy as i am and i would have to give up too much bacon to be any other way so it's never gonna happen .

Re: Women's 'issues'
When I was on the singles scene I was told several times by different guys that I had a great personality. Funny how it always seemed to be located below my neck. Oh how I laughed.
